Mountain bikes, e-bikes, road bikes and motorbikes: the Kauner Valley has a route for every bike:
Mountain bikers have an endless variety of challenging routes and a comprehensive network of longer treks totalling about 4000 kilometres and almost 140,000 metres of elevation... more than enough to meet the Alps face-to-face in the saddle. Road bikers have a prime selection of routes in and around the Tyrolean Oberland, while more relaxed riders can add e-power to their journey and learn to love the climbs on an e-bike. Hire one out, gear up, and take off!
In the Tyrolean Oberland you find bike routes in all levels of difficulty -
paths suitable for families, exciting tours on the mountains and challenging treks
with great differences in altitude to make you sweat.
And for those with a need for speed, the 26-km tour on the Glacier road is a breathtaking outing for motorbikers. The destination is the Glacier Restaurant and its spacious sun terrace at the end of the route, at 2750 metres above sea level.
A truly special attraction for all cycling fans is the Kaunertaler Gletscherkaiser race, boasting the highest mountaintop finish line in Austria (2750m), where the best of the best compete on majestic roads through princely lands, conquering 51 kilometres and no less than 2150 metres of elevation.
